Another Galley Kitchen - Total DIY
Posted by ruemom (My Page) on Wed, Aug 10, 05 at 13:15
Finally!! The kitchen is 98% done! We love it and consider all of our "sweat equity" worth every drop AND every $$ saved. We could not have done it, however, without the benefit of all the advice, suggestions and experience shared on this forum. Thank you ALL. If you have any specific questions about cabinets, granite, etc., just email me. |

Wow! Beautiful job, I love the darker cabinets. We chose to do darker cabinets also. What brand are yours? |

What a beautiful kitchen! And the fact that you totally DIYd must make you even more proud! It's truly beautiful! And there must be a way to share your album to the public without giving a password. Hopefully, someone who uses that service will tell you how! |

Mercymygft - Thanks. The cabinets are Autumn Spice Cherry by Welborn. We love them! I know - I've posted pictures from Kodak Gallery before without requiring people to log in - obviously I've forgotten how I did that. |

Wow! What a dramatic kitchen. I love those cabinets. I only hope my drama comes out as well. Your granite works so well with the cabinet color and the stainless steel / metal accents add just a bit of sparkle. Lovely. -a |

I am so glad to see someone else who has used Wellborn. We just ordered our Cherry Hill Square - Light Cherry last week. We are working with a KD though and our's will not be a DIY project. Congratulations on a very beautiful kitchen. |

Beautiful Ruemom! I'm a diy-er myself (also a galley kitchen) and I'm very impressed with what you did. The cabs are gorgeoous, and your layout is perfect. Enjoy! |

Your kitchen is very similar to what we plan. Ours is a long narrow galley that looks very much like yours except we have no breakfast area.
Our cherry cabinets will be here this week. We're gutted to the studs at the moment (old house).
I love your colors. VERY tasteful. I was just telling my husband that I'm not sure I want a tile backsplash for such a narrow space, thinking that paint will pull it together so much better without being busy and getting dated so quickly in the future. Your gorgeous kitchen convinced me! I love the sleek lines of less is more.
Bravo on a job well done. We are also DIY'g it and saving a ton of money, but more importantly, we know it will be done right because we are taking our time.
