Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....

and then we buy a house and will most likely move in the next couple months! Well without this kitchen we wouldn't be able to afford to move to the house on the lake...so everything happens for a reason!
These are my 100% finished pics. The majority of the kitchen was finished last July, with the exception of the backsplash, light over table, window valances and window seat cushion, which were all completed within the last 2 months. Now that it's all done I can't enjoy it for that long!
Details for the TKO:
Cherry cabinets, shaker style in honeyspice stain (from buycabinets.com)
Soapstone counters from Bucks County Soapstone
Cork Floors: Floating 3x1 planks, from European Quality Cork flooring
Wolf all gas range (36") w/griddle
Vent-a-Hood undercabinet
LG French door fridge
DW is our old Maytag that still runs great
MW: Samsung
Amerock dark wrought iron pulls and knobs
Delta Waterfall faucet
Chicago Pot filler faucet
Kindred Platinum Big Sink
Kitchler House Beautiful pendant lights and large light over table.
Wall Color: Alexander Julian's 'honeymoon' from Lowe's (but painter matched color w/Duron paint)
Backsplash:
Field tiles:'Bottochino' tumbled marble subway tiles (matte finish)
Accent: Peacock green mini subway slate tiles
Any questions please ask...I am so grateful to this forum for providing me with TONS of useful information.
Well off to design my next one.......

Skivino, can you make your pictures public? |

You did a terrific job! That kitchen seems to belong in a lakehouse. You must have subconciously known you might be making a move! It's going to be bittersweet leaving that kitchen! |

Great kitchen, love that cork floor! What will you repeat in your next kitchen? What will you do differently? |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Thanks. I love the cork as well, so soft and comfortable to walk/stand on, hides dirt wonderfully, nothing breaks! And sadly the "new" kitchen has ceramic tile floor, looks lovely but I hate the cold, hard, uncomfortableness of it. When we have the $$ to redo the kitchen I will replicate my kitchen exactly, from top to bottom. Honestly, I've lived with it for almost a year and there's nothing I'd do differently. I spent a thousand hours planning every minute detail so it fit our life perfectly and it does, so there's no changing necessary. However, there will be a different layout and probably cabinet choices just because the size is different (smaller :(. But sticking w/cherry,cork and soapstone for sure! |

Wow, Ski. Love the backsplash, the soapstone, and that window seat area ... awesome. I'm sure the new owners will love it too! |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Looks wonderful, and I halfway envy you getting a chance to do it again. I'm getting antsy in a way after getting so much info here. |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Yes I'm looking forward to designing another one, only problem is don't know when we'll have the $$ to do so. If we sell our house for substantially more than we're thinking it may be sooner than later (yeah) and the best part is this house has a second kitchen in the basement (more like lower level as it's a full walkout) so no worries of how to survive w/out one! New kitchen will be less $$ because we won't be removing walls (can't and really no need), or installing skylight (can't colonial house). It'll be fun for sure and at least next time the view will be 100% better....a lovely little lake! thanks for looking. But then again I fear if I remodel that kitchen I'll end up moving again after a year! |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
As I've told you before, I love your kitchen. Unlike you, I will do things a bit different in my next one (she says, pulling hair out and screaming wildly). At least you got to enjoy it for a year. Can't wait to see the next one. |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Thanks Colo...I can't believe there's anything you'd change about your kitchen, because it is so lovely!!! Did you have a nice vacation? |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Skivino, WOW. I love it. You did an awesome job. I love the fact that you'd do it the same way again..you don't hear that too often. Enjoy it until you move and get to do it again! |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
It looks beautiful. Your soapstone is gorgeous. Is it like you thought it would be? Love the cherry cabinets. They have such a warm look to them. Do you love your wolf all gas? And how about the griddle? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just full of 'em. Enjoy for now... |
RE: Skivino's TOTALLY finished kitchen....
Love your kitchen, so warm and inviting. However, a house on a lake (with a boat, I hope) sounds very appealing. Good luck with the move. Hope you get to do your kitchen again! |
