It's a bit late but here are some photos of my kitchen. I couldn't have done the project without all of your help. We are really enjoying it- everything works.

Very sleek and sophisticated looking...Love the way you have used color on the walls and that way cool KA mixer. I also love your stools with this kitchen. Good job!!

Yes- Joseph Eichler sold many of these homes in Northern California in the 1950, 60's and even 70's. It's a very open floor plan which was new and different back then. It was also designed with a mid-century look including walls of windows that extend floor the ceiling- an indoor/outdoor feel.

Remodeling the kitchen can be tricky. Some owners remodel to the original style including laminate countertops and vinyl tile. I decided to use more of a modern contemporary style a la Terrance Conran (he has many books). It's the sleek European look. I couldn't afford the European cabinetry so following the advice of many here, I used Ikea which I am very happy with. The trick is to make it functional but minimal and not too fancy.
